Ho, ho, ho

Well December is almost upon us, and I've been busy turning Wooden donkey into Santa's grotto. I've already added some lovely new treasures (including the fab glass dish above) and I've got lots, lots more to add this week, so make sure you check back often. Please don't leave it too late - get your orders in early in time for Christmas!

Ruth Green Design & Jenny Duff placemats

On Sunday I went to the Midcentury Modern Show in Dulwich and saw lots of eye-wateringly lovely things. I particularly liked Ruth Green's wonderful prints (left: "Tick tock"; right: "We live here"). I bought a few postcards but when I got home I couldn't help regretting not buying a print, so thank goodness Ruth Green sells online too. You can also buy her lovely work over at Boxbird.

I also loved the Jenny Duff placemats and coasters at the Midcentury Modern Show, particularly those designed by Gillian Blease. Such wonderful colours and designs.

Vintage Christmas card

I've been to the Country Living Christmas Fair in Islington today with my mum and my mother in law and it made my day to find a few stalls selling vintage finds. I spotted this card and fell in love with it straight away. I can't see me being able to let it go, so I thought I'd share it with you here instead. I bought it from Acorn & Will and yes they do have a website with more lovely vintage (and handmade) cards and treasures.

Handmade heaven

My friend Steph is a talented glass artist. You can see some of her lovely creations in her online shop. My favourites are the rainbow latticeware bowls (shown here), "A day at the beach" square fused glass bowl and some of her beautiful framed artwork, but it's all eye candy!

Shop update and blog changes

I've been doing some work on my blog this weekend. The sidebar was looking a bit sparse, so check out some of the links I've added. More to follow! There are new items in the shop too, including these fantastic old school abacuses from the fifties (I've got two available). They're quite big so they make a great display piece. The way the colours run from purple through to red, orange and yellow is so pleasing on the eye. I have one myself and never get tired of looking at it. It's almost sculptural.
